Arcanum, OH

Arcanum is a quiet town full of the rural beauty Ohio is famous for. With a population around 2,000, Arcanum proper is indeed a small town. However, that doesn't mean it's off the beaten path! Interstates 70 and 75 are located close by, so Arcanum isn't too far from major metropolitan areas like Dayton.

The Arcanum Public Library sees a lot of traffic. Not only does the library offer basic library services, but they also feature engaging and fascinating events for children, including Storytime on Mondays and movies on Wednesdays. The library building, built in 1874 by an early Arcanum family, proves to be really interesting all by itself.

Spend any time in Arcanum and you'll notice immediately that there are not only one, but three parks in town. Built from contributions by the community and local businesses, Veterans Memorial Park is in the center of town and features a heartfelt memorial to our nation's veterans. In Arcanum Community Park, you can relax and catch a little league baseball game. Night games are especially fun! Ivester Community Park features a large wooded area perfect for a family cookout.

Arcanum is located in Darke County, and every year the Darke County Fair just seems to get better and better. You can catch exhilarating shows featuring the best national country music acts. Of course, the Tractor Pull and Demolition Derby remain big hits as does the Darke County Jr. Fair.
